"Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it."

I've always liked that quote - though I have to admit that history hasn't been a big part of our studies this year....a bit, but not a major part...

dd11 and I actually had a discussion not so long ago about racism and she was absolutely stunned -- it's not something that she has ever witnessed and she was rather shocked at the whole idea.

(saw you on the Canadian Home Educator's Carnival Blog)

It truly was awful the things that happened regarding segregation of color and ethnic races in the past and how there are many unfair things continuing today. Great learning philosophy to 'growing in compassion and understanding'! I think many people have been accustomed to so many of the ugly things in todays world that they have hardened and have no feelings towards it anymore and can turn a blind eye which is unfortunate.
Thanks for sharing with us :)

This year it went in like a lamb and out like a lamb. The kids weren't impressed at the lack of lions this year but they are impressed that the snow is melting, so I guess their reaction to the experiment was mixed.

So, *did* March come in like a lamb and go out like a lion, or not? I know my girls are not looking forward to all the April showers. :)
