At Dorion Bible Camp you can't help but have fun and meet new friends! There are many things to do that are great for anyone from 6 to 19. We have camp-wide games, flag raising, swimming, campfires, singing, Chapel, Bible times and even theme meals to make your week memorable. Bodnieks being strung along.

    Carly & Katie like the food at DBC!! The food at Dorion Bible Camp is delicious! You get three balanced and nutritious meals a day, as well as a tasty night time snack.

    We care about your health and maintain high standards. There is a nurse or a qualified First-Aider here at all times and we have a doctor on call. We also have other staff who who trained in first aid.

    No, that's a 3 year old staff kid, not a lazy camper, in the middle!
  • Our Canoe Outtrip is a week of fun that you'll remember for a lifetime. Enjoy paddling over the open waters, portaging from one lake to the next, camping under the stars and cooking over an open fire.
  • For ages 13 through 19.
  • This is a good trip for the beginner or the more experienced paddler.
  • We also offer occasions when families and individuals can get together for fun and fellowship:
  • Labour Day weekend is another busy time at the camp with friends gathering from all over Northwestern Ontario to share happy times and hear good Bible messages.

    Karl's Mum and Dad Dorion Bible Camp and Conference Centre has a full-time team who are serving as CSSM missionaries. 
    To larger version of EXCELLENT Staff 02.
    • Our staff love God and you. They want to make sure your time at camp will be awesome!
    • The Certified Lifeguards and our buddy system make sure you have a great (and safe) time in Lake Superior.
    • Your Cabin leaders (who are at least 18 years old) and Assistants cannot wait to hang out with you and supervise all the fun you have at all times.
    • Instructors are ready to teach you all sorts of neat things at all of your activities!

    Activity Levels & Awards

    MAJORS (One hour per morning for 5 days; instruction progresses from year to year).

    ARCHERY: proper shooting form, scoring. Friday competition. Advanced levels learn clout shooting and sighting.
    CAR RACING: Join the Dorion pit crew in making your own wooden model race car and getting it ready for the big race at the end of the week.
    CRAFTS: age appropriate project(s) with a variety of materials.
    DRAMA: Drama games, acting & staging tips, participation in a play for the whole Camp on Friday morning.
    OUTDOOR SURVIVAL SKILLS: includes fire-making, compasses & maps, edible plants. Advanced levels make and use their own shelters.
    SPORTS: Monday: soccer; Tuesday: softball; Wednesday: basketball; Thursday: variety of team and individual sports; Friday: a choice from one of the previous days.
    WORKING WITH WOOD: Wood is a wonderful thing! Sign up for this activity and explore cutting, shaping, sanding and using your project. Possible activities include checker boards and boomerangs.

    MINIS (One hour per afternoon for 2 days; an introduction to the basics).

    ARCHERY and CRAFTS: Basic abbreviated versions of the Major.
    BIBLE KNOWLEDGE: survey of history, content and value of the Old and New Testaments.
    BOARD GAMES: Campers can choose from our collection of games such as chess, checkers, Clue, Monopoly, Master Mind, Life and Stratego and play in groups or pairs.
    CANOEING: basic strokes, steering, safety, swamping on flatwater. Camp provides life jackets
    HACKEY SACK: Learn the basics of hackey-sacking and some of the fun games you can play with that fascinating little sack of beads. (Bring your own hackey, or use one of ours).
    MISSIONS: origin, purpose and methods of missionaries, including former Dorion campers. How might God want US involved, too?
    OUTDOOR COOKING: may include making bannock, cooking with a paper bag or cardboard box and other creative methods.
    PELLET GUNS: Learn how to safely handle, load and shoot a pellet gun. Learn accuracy in shooting on targets. DBC will provide the pellet guns: don't bring yours to camp.
    PHOTOGRAPHY: taking good pictures: composition, exposure, focus, film types--demonstrated on Camp camera. DBC recommends each student bring a disposable camera for this class.
    RAPPELLING: experienced instruction in descending (in harness) a nearby rock-face. Camp provides all equipment.
    ROCKETRY: construct your own model rocket (provided by Camp) to take home. Rockets will be safely launched at Camp.
    SLINGSHOTS: Learn the basics in safely using a slingshot. Learn to shoot accurately at a target. DBC will provide the use of slingshots -- don't bring yours to camp.
    STREET HOCKEY: More action than the NHL; more excitement than the Stanley Cup playoffs. Bring your hockey stick and come ready to play hockey on our outdoor basketball court. (Street Hockey sticks work best).
